What Parents Say About Druzhba78
Meet the coaches
Every coach here was trained inside the system. Several were trained by it
as players first — and now teach the exact mechanics they learned it on.
  • Oleg Timchenko
Head Coach, Power Skating & Player Development
Coaches HC Kyiv Capitals in Riga and carries that same Druzhba78 lineage directly into the camp's on-ice and off-ice program.
  • Sergiy Kovalyov
Skills Coach - Power Skating Specialist
Trained under Boris Dorozhenko, whose athletes include NHL players. Coaches fluently in Czech, Ukrainian, Russian, and English.
  • Egor Egorov
Skills Coach - International Playing & Coaching Experience
Sharpened his game inside the Druzhba system before taking it into international competition — now brings that same skill set back to correct it in every player he coaches.
  • Oleg Panasenko
Power Skating Coach - Druzhba Graduate
One of the system's own graduates, still teaching the exact mechanics he learned it on — now coaching alongside his son on the same staff.
  • Bogdan Panasenko
    Skills Coach, International Playing Experience
Learned the system from his father, Oleg, long before ever coaching it — the Druzhba lineage now runs through a second generation.
  • Gleb Artsatbanov
Goalie Coach, International Playing & Coaching Experience
Brings competitive international goaltending experience directly into position-specific correction on the ice.
The Technical Foundation We Provide
This is our blueprint for powerful, efficient, and game-ready skating — on and off the ice
  • Edge Control & Balance
Players learn how to truly use their edges for agility, speed control, and direction changes — mastering inside and outside edge pressure in motion.
  • Explosive Starts & Stride Power
We correct inefficient stride mechanics and teach players to generate power from the hips, legs, and core — not just pushing hard.
  • Transitions & Turns
Fast forward-to-backward movement, clean pivots, and seamless edge transfers — all taught and corrected in real time.
  • Jump Mechanics & Core Strength
Plyometric movements build lower-body explosiveness, while core activation develops control in every stride and turn.
  • Balance & Body Positioning
We simulate edge control using dryland drills to help players feel proper positioning and stability — especially when fatigued.
  • Agility, Reaction & Coordination
High-speed footwork, reaction tasks, and multi-movement drills that directly translate into faster decision-making and sharper movement on the ice.

How have the CAMPs been in previous years
The Story of Druzhba78
The name means "friendship" — and it carries a power skating tradition that goes back more than 40 years to Kharkiv, Ukraine, where a method was built around a simple idea: most players don't need to try harder, they need a stride that actually works. Low hip position. A deep knee bend that gives the leg somewhere to push from. Full extension through every stride instead of a shortened, wasted one. It sounds simple. Very few programs anywhere in the world ever taught it properly.
  • Proven Success on the International Stage

The method produced real results — a Quebec International Pee-Wee Tournament championship in 1992, multiple Ukrainian national titles, and more than 30 international tournament wins across Russia, Czech Republic, Germany, the USA, Canada, and Mexico. It became one of the most respected power skating systems in hockey.

  • A Legacy Parents Can Trust

What hasn't changed is the coaching philosophy: pure skating mechanics, not team tactics — real correction, tested at game speed, not just in a slow drill. What has changed is everything around it — clear communication with parents, safe and supervised camps, and a coaching staff that speaks the language of every family that walks in, whether that's Czech, Ukrainian, Russian, or English.

  • Building future hockey stars

The method now runs across three cities — Prague, Brno, and Riga — through three formats built around how families actually train: a full Winter Camp, a multi-week Summer Camp, and a new monthly Small-Group Camp, capped at 12 players, for the players who want one specific weakness fixed fast rather than a full week away.
